These workshops are available to be booked, either by a single individual (for a personalised one to one session 'at home' in Chester) ,by an organised group wanting to present a different creative experience, or by a venue within 25 miles of Chester who might wish to add to their offer.

Chenille Cushion Cover
During this 1 hour workshop you will be shown how to Chenille Fabric.
The materials to make a cushion cover will be provided for you to make during the workshop. Ideas around how to use this technique in many other ways will be shown to you in the workshop.
There are many ways to use Chenille in soft furnishings, clothing and pictures.
You will be provided with a worksheet with useful information to help you continue learning beyond the workshop.

Two Tone Tote Bag
One can never have enough Tote Bags.
Join Molly for this class to make this ever so useful Two Tone Tote Bag, with a flat bottom to hold your shopping more effectively.
She will give you a step by step guide on how to make the bag and lots of ideas on how to add variations to the basic bag.
You will leave with the bag ready to shop until you drop! Suitable for beginners, new to machine sewing.

Eco-Friendly Face Wipes and Laundry Bag
If you have been searching for an eco alternative to disposable face wipes, then this workshop is for you.
Molly will show you how to make these pretty reusable face wipes, complete with their own snap fastening laundry bag.
The laundry bag also has a super cute duck motif appliqued onto it.
Make them for yourself or as super cute eco gifts for friends.
Molly will provide a colour handout, so you can remember the steps to make more at home.

Creative Coil Pots
These lovely pots are quite addictive to make and mesmerising to watch them grow on your machine.
In this 90 minute workshop you will make your own pot.
Molly will demonstrate how to add handles and wrap the cord with fabric to add variation and colour to your pots.
The uses for the pots are too many to list here and they can be made in a variety of sizes.
There will also be a detailed worksheet of useful hints and tips to remind you for when you want to make more at home. Familiarity with using a machine is useful.

Flying Knickers -
Knicker Bunting
Enjoy a fun hour sewing flying knickers by machine!
During this session you will be shown how to make a plain pair of Bunting Knickers – then you can let your creativity run wild with ribbon, lace, buttons and bows to decorate the basic knicker shape.
Then when you’re done hang them up and flash your knickers. Suitable for beginners.

One bag, four skills
In this 2-hour workshop you will make a bag to hold plastic carrier bags
In the process you will learn how to make and use bias binding, and how to attach elastic. You will also have an introduction to appliqué and free motion embroidery.
You will be provided with all the materials you need to make this useful bag.
Then take it home to hang up to hold plastic bags ready for re-use.

Sewing Machines for Beginners
Do you have a sewing machine you are afraid to use?
Then join Molly for this one day workshop where she will demystify the sewing machine and run through essential information from how to thread a machine, to talking about which needles to use where.
From sewing straight and curved seams, to how to neaten seams. From adding decorative features, to simple closures.
During the day you will make your own samples to take home as a record of what you have learnt.
You will also make a cushion cover with a simple appliqué design.

How to use a pattern
In this one day workshop Molly will show you how to understand and use a simple pattern.
You will make a loose fitting kimono, as pictured.
The pattern is provided. You will need to bring your own fabric, details of requirements available when booking.
Molly will help you understand how to read a pattern, show you some useful tips and help you achieve a professional finish.
Tea and coffee provided throughout the day and a light lunch included in the price.

Pattern Fitting
If getting a good fit puts you off making your own clothes, then this workshop is for you.
Celia Banks, of Sew Fundamental Ltd. is joining Molly to lead this two day workshop. Celia has oodles of experience teaching how to pattern fit, using the tried and tested Palmer Pletsch method.
You will be provided with a ‘shell’ pattern and first of all find out which size to use. You will be pleasantly surprised on this point. Then Celia will show you how to fit the pattern to your particular set of curves, so you end up with a couture fit and finish.
Over the two days you will make a blouse to your own fit from the basic pattern.

Clamshells the quick and easy way -
Making a fabric coaster
In this workshop Molly will show you how to use clamshell patchwork shapes the quick and easy way, on the sewing machine.
We will explore 3 different ways to piece the shape.
Using up-cycled denim, she will show you the techniques needed to make a coaster.

Join Molly and make some beautiful snowflakes to decorate your Christmas Tree and home or give as gifts.
These are beautiful little decorations are a great way to get started with free motion embroidery and experimenting with soluble fabrics.
Molly will provide you with a work sheet with useful tips on free motion embroidery to take home with you too. Suitable for beginners to free motion embroidery.

during this 90 minute workshop you will be introduced to free motion embroidery by machine.
Molly will show you the basics of this technique and provide you with the materials and guidance to make an attractive Rose Bud Mini frame picture, taking you through the steps to complete the picture.

Fabulous Free Motion Flowers
Come and learn how to make these very attractive flowers, using free motion embroidery and soluble fabric.
Believe it or not, these lush flowers are suitable for those who have never tried free motion embroidery.
As you fill the blocks of colour, you become used to maneuvering the fabric under the machine and will be increasingly proficient.
Molly will provide the materials needed in the workshop and a detailed leaflet to take home, with some soluble fabric so you can continue improving your skills.
Use these flowers to make broaches, decorate our clothing or give as gifts. They are just lovely. Suitable for beginners.

Shisha (mirrors) embroidered onto fabrics are a very popular Indian embellishment.

You will make a sample of this lovely textured technique.

Molly will provide a detailed handout so you can continue with your own projects at home.

Piecing by Hand
This workshop will provide you with the materials to make a coaster using the very pretty Clamshell shape.
During the session you will be shown how to cut and join clamshell patchwork pieces by hand, using Molly’s method of piecing.
You will be shown 3 different patterns how to piece this shape together. As a hand sewn project, you will need to complete it at home.
However, Molly will provide you with detailed handouts covering the techniques demonstrated.
